Sunday, max temperatures moderate back towards climate normals with low temperatures slightly above average. By late Sunday evening/early morning hours of Monday, another cold front could bring more widespread coverage of precipitation back to north and central Georgia, but there is some disagreement in global model guidance. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach the upper 60s and 70s for most of the forecast area while overnight lows are in the 40s to low 50s through Saturday. Max and min temps are expected to continue a warming trend from the beginning of the period through Saturday with temperatures well above climatological averages. Another weak disturbance approaches the forecast area by late Friday evening/Saturday bringing a chance of rain primarily to extreme northwest Georgia. As ridging builds in from the west, relative humidities continue to increase slightly thanks to surface winds bringing moisture from the Gulf of Mexico through Friday. There is, however, enough moisture to kick start the rebounding of relative humidities across much of north Georgia while isolated areas in central Georgia may see low RH values in the 20s through Wednesday. Moisture amounts associated with this disturbance remain unimpressive and precipitation is not anticipated. LONG TERM /Wednesday Night through Sunday/.Ī weak disturbance traversing behind the upper level trough to the east will push through the Tennessee Valley and into parts of north Georgia Wednesday/Thursday morning. Tomorrow will be the beginning of an overall warming trend, with highs in the 60s across most of the area. Not as high confidence on this event as today's, so will likely hold off on issuance of any Fire Danger Statement until later tonight. This will allow for some very light moisture return and WAA, enough such that fire weather concerns may be more confined to central Georgia. At the surface, flow should become more westerly to WSWerly as high pressure center sinks to the south.

Jet remains to the north of the area tomorrow in a northwest flow configuration as a series of shortwaves and clipper type systems quickly move along it. As such, Fire Danger Statement remains in place through the evening. Afternoon heating has allowed for mixing of very dry air and stronger winds, bringing Tds into the teens and lower 20s across the area, sending RHs well into the lower 20s in many areas. Aloft, a layer of very dry, relatively warmer air is in place just above the cold air mass that slid in with the cold front. Cold front associated with the system has cleared the area, bringing in seasonable temperatures. Large trough over eastern CONUS continues to slide east and take on a more negative tilt. A fire danger statement will likely be needed for the area for tomorrow afternoon and evening as min RHs fall into the low 20s. Main concern will be the continued dry conditions across central GA. Sunny skies will allow for maximum heating and highs reaching the 60s area wide. Issued 818 PM EST Mon Nov 29 2021/įorecast remains on track for a cool night with a nice day tomorrow.
